The first appearance of the little tracks that eventually became Trixie and Tracky.

Painting Red and Green, plus lots of freight and passenger cars for the trains to pull.

Setting up the train set, and using train tracks to steady the camera near the ground.

The final illustrations were finished up while I was at the SCBWI Conference in LA at the end of July 2016. (I spent a lot of time drawing in conference rooms and my hotel room that weekend!) The last image I worked on before turning everything in was the pattern for the end papers.
